Hi my name is Miguel. I like music, hanging out with my friends, eating, and going out to places. I am from and currently live in Richmond California. I go to school at Summit K2 in El Cerrito #K2Dragons. However, on the academic side I really do enjoy Computer Science, Writing, and Math. A career I want to go in is Music Journalism because it combines my two passions.
To transition into my hobbies, I might aswell start off with my strongest: music. My love for music came from a household where music was all around me. My mom grew up playing the paino and was friends with many musicians. Its funny that I don't play any instruments but I do love music. When listening to music, I am generally open minded. I listen to alot of music. I listen to hiphop, rap, pop, electronic, house, alternative, rock, folk, some country, r&b, soul, and kpop. JuST ALOT
As for artists I mainly listen to Tame Impala, J. Cole, Kehlani, Grimes, Travi$ Scott, Mac Demarco, Azealia Banks, Kanye West, Kaytranada, SZA, Miguel, The Growlers, Kendrick Lamar, Dean, HEIZE, ABRA, The Weeknd, Childish Gambino, Rihanna, EXID, Chicano Batman, TaeYang, James Blake, Death Grips, Solange, and Erykah Badu.
one time near new years i went with my friend brigitte to this japanese restaurant and we were hella broke that night esp since it was after christmas so we had no money. when we got there we were going to share a rice bowl and after we ordered the waiter came with an appitizer for us and gave us soda which we never asked for. after that we got another ricebowl for free and i got all worried bc i aint got no money to pay for all of that food. then he asked us if we were dating and i said yes just because he was giving us food. at that moment i asked if the food was free and he said yes. i still remember the waiters name lol his name is bat.
I went to this traphouse with my friend jordan. the traphouse was said to be an "art show" and thats why i went with him but it turned out being a really weird and random experience for me. The art show was deep in oakland and the outside scene was really really suspecious I wasnt even 15 at the time. when I went into the door I paid in quarters to get in because the entry fee was $5 and the doorman had this look on his face which was screaming "really, kid?". when i got into the building jordan then reminds me that there are people in gangs that he knows and he wants to avoid so that sets the mood even more. There was also a lot of weed and drugs in general. i didn't do none but then rappers started coming out and one was rapping about his tax returns. Even though I didn't have alot of fun, my friend did and he networked with this photgrapher.
On the night of my friend Brigitte's birthday we planned to go out just to celebrate. A couple of her friends joined in too. First, we all went to eat at this korean where the bill turned out to be 150. Then after that we went to go to the movies and her friend was doing the fight the air challenge EVERYWHERE. After the movies we were left out at night till her mother came to pick
On my birthday I was able to see Kanye West from the pit and the whole experience was crazy. I was able to find a friend who is currently one of my great friends. I remember the line to even get into the pit area was crazy because the hypebeasts who were there just wanted the merch. Of course, I wanted the merch, so thankfully this drunk lady pushed me up to the front where I could get some merch. I don't think I could have gotten to the front if it wasn't for her so god bless that lady. Later on in the show stuff just started getting crazier. There were people who were forming circles and pushing everyone inside of it. I pray for anyone who went below the stage because you could get trampled with everyone jumping around in there. He ranted a lot during that show too, not as in comparison to the San Jose show (which i also went to #promote) Kanye mostly ranted about Frank Ocean not being able to recieve a grammy and the problems in our communities. I would talk about the San Jose show, but the Oakland show gave way more awe out and turned out to be my first concert which was really an awesome and colorful experience.
The kehlani CD signing was really fun. I went with a couple of friends and even gained some new friends. When I got to go buy the CD, the line was long-- I mean it stretched around the street. One rude thing that happened there was that there was a group of people who told my party we shouldn't try to go since the line was so long. lmao little do they know we got our CD signed by kehlani anyway-- even without the wristband. After the CDs started to get signed is when it started to get fun. The crowd was already set because security were denying people access and it was getting more chaoitc. There were people banging on the store's windows to get in and climbing on the ledges to get in as the night started to creep. After I got my CD signed I went to the corner (or the back) of the store because I knew kehlani would get out especially from the back. The front was already filled with people and some windows had cracks in them after that. I waited and the crowd around me got bigger as time went by. The first thing surprising that heppend is that she ended up sending a fake to clear the people but that didn't work and then she actually got out and thats when people where getting trampled and trying to get ontop of her. I almost tripped because the security guard was blocking people from the van and I was stuck in his foot.
